LLM — Large Language Model

AI model trained on trillions of texts that understands and generates natural language. Examples: GPT-4, Claude, Gemini.

02/Full definition

An LLM (Large Language Model) is the central piece of any AI product in 2026. The main ones are GPT-4/5 (OpenAI), Claude Sonnet/Opus (Anthropic), and Gemini Pro (Google). They're accessed via REST API: you send a prompt + context and they return generated text. Billing is per token (1 token ≈ 0.75 words). For production, Claude or GPT-4 are the norm — Gemini is competitive but less mature in ecosystem.

03/In Costa Rica context

For automations in Costa Rica, monthly token cost depends on volume: <1,000 conversations/mo = USD 5–20; 10,000+ = USD 100–500. Practical rule: use Claude Haiku or GPT-4o-mini for 80% of tasks (cheap), and Claude Sonnet or GPT-4o for those requiring serious reasoning. We always make this transparent in the quote.
